| About Lauren - |
I was raised in
Wilmette, Illinois, circa 1970.
Being the middle daughter made me outspoken and "the one with the
personality." As a teenager, I was a big comic book fan who read
constantly. I also watched a lot of Saturday morning cartoons and
was fascinated with all of the different voices.
I graduated with a BA in
Communications and Public Relations from
Illinois State University in 1982. After graduation, I moved to
Albuquerque, NM where I began a
successful career in radio sales. After working for two top radio
stations in Albuquerque, I became a Sales Consultant for PCA National
where I was awarded top regional salesperson after less then a year at
the job.
Next, I moved to
Los Angeles to seek out my dream
of working in the entertainment business. I worked as an Intern at
"Women in Film" where I was part of a team that produced a Public
Service Announcement about children staying in school. I was also
involved with the Women in Film annual Crystal Awards.
Next, I worked as a "Clearance
Associate" for the Eagle/Horowitz Production "Tears of Joy, Tears of
Sorrow" an ABC television special. My duties included celebrity
negotiation and clearance of contracts for writers, directors and
actors. Additionally, during the day of the shoot I worked as John Forsythe's personal
assistant. I volunteered my time working as a Sound Technician/Boom
Operator on an AFI project called "Coeval." Next I spent three years as
the Assistant Manager of the legendary
Sunset
Landmark Building in Hollywood. I was the location manager for all
shoots within the building for film, television and commercial use. For
the next four years I worked as a Senior Account Executive at the large
marketing firm "R.L. Polk & Co." I had daily client contact for creative
direction on direct mail programs. After the Los Angeles Rodney King
incident and many middle of the night earthquakes, I thought a big
change was in order.
I moved to
Kalamazoo, MI with my former
husband and had a daughter and son. We were transferred to the East
Coast and I spent the next 7 years being a housewife and mother. After
my children were older, I knew that I would go back to work and kept
thinking about how much I enjoyed doing voices. I knew that becoming a
voice over artist was in my future. During the last 20 years friends
have told me that I have a very distinctive voice and many times they hear me
before seeing me.
I currently live in
Holmdel, New Jersey
with my daughter Spencer, 15 and son Matt, 13. Holmdel is located in
Central NJ which is halfway between
New York
City and Philadelphia. I am
available to travel to Los Angeles,
Chicago,
Canada,
or another location for creative work. I look forward to working on a
variety of audio projects with my goal being to work in animated films
or television.
